ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

Making Change Possible

Founded in April 2022, The Lance A Wyndon Engineering Foundation has made a tremendous impact thanks to the help of members and volunteers in the Engineering community.

​

​The foundation's scholarship and tutoring programs cultivating an environment that creates a significant by-product of personal, professionally, and economic development. By empowering students to overcome financial barriers and excel academically, the foundation cultivates a skilled and knowledgeable talent pool. This, in turn, drives innovation and growth in the engineering sector and beyond.​

WHO IS LANCE A. WYNDON
ENGINEER - MENTOR - VISIONARY

Lance Allan Wyndon was born in Houston, Texas, on August 16, 1960. He attended Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1982.​

 

Throughout his extensive 38-year career in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, and Design Engineering, his passion for inspiring, teaching, mentoring, and supporting future African American Engineers grew, and he found many opportunities to give back to his community and alma mater. Most recently, while working at Lockheed Martin in Palmdale, CA, he served as the President of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), NSBE Antelope Valley Chapter where he mentored,  and tutored high school STEM students.

Engineering Tutoring

Through its tutoring program, the foundation provides one-on-one support and guidance to help students master complex engineering concepts and excel in their coursework. The foundation's tutoring program is led by experienced and knowledgeable tutors passionate about engineering and dedicated to helping students succeed.
